Do these seem bout right? Just wondering if my truck is performing the same as the others.

Avg. MPG 10.5 (live in Ohio so its fairly flat)
Top speed on flat ground 98?

What the quickest way to get a bit more out of my truck? The programers out there really do all that they claim they can? I.E. Hypertech's Power Programmer III claims a +21HP gain! ??

new cap and rotor also

change your oil to sythetic

highflow cat

check tire pressure

take tailgate off

drive like my gradma

lastly if its so bad geo metro

 

Hahaha, not cryin about it, just wondering if people are getting more (or less) with the same type of setup. Just tryin to see if my trucks power is off from what it should be is all.

 

My MPG's are about 4 blocks a gallon...or at least it feels like it. That looks more or less about right though.

 

My truck is mostly mostly stock, with 4x4 offroad package and a 360: very similar to yours, but my numbers are a little better. The only mods I have are a magnaflow muffler and a 14x3 round aircleaner and I average around 12 or 13 mpg and I don't care to say how fast I've been, but a little more than what you said.

I would recommend you look into what lastrights suggested. These trucks are notorious for a leaking plenum. This hurts efficiency and performance. Look into that and take care of some basic maintainance, then look into aftermarket fun stuff.

i have a 5.9 SLT Laramine 4x4 shortbed.

have hughes plenum plate, and avg. 13-14 city. and by no joke, around 17-18 highway.

I went to Maine, Cruise Control at 70mph the whole way, its 283 miles, and it took less than a half a tank....i have a 26 gallon tank.

truck has 194K, and ys i have dumped alot into it so far, and now im doing a rebuild...so its all on how well its taken care of and what you put into it, to get good mpgs. i dont reallyoff-road, have a couple times, and i dont hammer on it either. so i think thats why i get the mpg's that i do.

 

Why is it guys who drive a V8 4x4 are always asking how to get better mileage? Take my advice -- buy a little 4-banger for daily driving. That's the best way to increase your mileage.

 

^true or a nice 3.0 maxima...thats my g/f's car and it gets about 28mpgs
