2000 rpm at 60 mph sounds about right. I can pretty much guarantee that all of your problems stem from that vacum leak. Until you find it, you can't do anything to help your truck. Check the plenum as was said before and go over that intake with scrutiny until you find the source of the leak. Check connections and check to make sure that the manifold bolts are tightened.

Alright then. Well, I wish you the best of luck and don't approach what they have to say without a little scrutiny. I wouldn't want you to pay too much more money than you already have.

join the club most expensive vehicle I've ever maintained....To be fair I bought it used (like all the others) but I'm sure there's at least one good one out there that never gives its owner grief!

Got a call from tranny shop. They said its the selenoid, and its like $400? To replace. Is that about right? Or am I getting ripped off again?

they said its either the selenoid or the torq converter. he said the selenoid is 400$ and the torq converter is 900$. he told me he doesnt think its the torq converter so he is going to replace the selenoid. if that doesnt do it, then its the t-converter. i think hes setting up a rip off here...idk..

im not bashing anybody else's truck, but from my experience, i know im never buying or owning a dodge ever again. im the only one in my family with a dodge, and yet ive spent the most money fixing it. and my truck has less miles. just my experience

If you mean the transmission control solenoid, Auto zone has them posted for $133.99. I'm not sure how long it would take to swap one out, but that price sounds about right, if not just a little high.

theres more than one soleniod.... I replaced my govener pressure soleniod and sensor (also called transducer) because mine quit shifting but I believe there is a few soleniods in there and OD may have its own....
(btw mine took and hour to fix and all the parts filter and fluid were 200 bucks. so add trannys shops premium labor and thats about right.
