It finally went....damn
A lot of times thats how they go...the last of lining wears off, something gets plugged, the fluid overheats, and its a downhill spiral.
At least it didn't go >BANG<...trust me, that becomes VERY expensive.
When its rebuilt, make sure they flush and/or replace the check valve and your cooler.
Oh, and take it to a reputable shop, not AAmco.

i guess it does go black in a week that is correct....and yes i tow, i have 33's, and i have the 3.55
I just had the trans rebuilt in my truck at 185K and was told there were signs it was rebuilt before. I had heavier duty parts installed and even after the work ($1750) my is still worth over $3,500.

and yeah kbb on it is $3600 so I feel like its worth it theres nothing else wrong with the truck besdies this, i love the truck, and Ive put a lot into it already i think its worth it, but thats my take on it

If it's clean and mostly rust free, and the interior isn't shredded, I'd say go for it.
Of course your motor has a lot of miles on it, and its gonna need some attention some day. But motors can be dealt with. Rust is a whole 'nother matter.
