Default 4x4 front axle seals

well my truck has been setting for a few days now, and i got to looking, and there is gear oil steadily dripping out of the passenger side seal i was just wondering if this is just a seal or something more, and how hard is this to fix. is this something the average person can do and, how much do seals run?

seals are cheap, under 20 bucks for a cheapy, and since yours is on the pass. side, its a piece of cake. Do a search, there a very well detailed write up on how to do both of them.

that one is easy. the pavement sucks article doesn't have a picture of the seal driver you will need.

pull the hub, axle and cad unit and the seal is right there inside the cads hole. pop it out with a piece of pipe and drive the new one in and put it back together. then put 5oz. of diff fluid through the 4x4 indicator switch and you're done.
