i tried to do it w/o removing TB and couldn't really see anything. later on when i installed a hypertech it pinged like crazy. so i removed the TB and checked again and could see a lot better - i had a puddle of oil at the rear.

you can pretty much bet on this - if its never been fixed, and it feels like a turd. its leaking.

worst case all it will cost you is a new gasket for TB if it ok down in there. And if its oily need to take it of anyway to make it easier to pull the keg out anyway

hammer down, that gasket on yours looks like the first felpro that i looked at. i decided not to get it and then the next day i got a different felpro gasket that is rubber on both sides.

and with the throttle body off you have a nice handle to take the intake out via the TB holes.

Duplicolor Engine primer and enamel.

And Sherrif, I ended up using nothing but felpro gaskets when I put everything back together. I didn't like the cheap, plastic gasket that came with the hughs kit.

The truck runs great now after I replaced the TPS, which decided to go out at the same time. I havn't filled back up yet or run the truck long enough for the computer to relearn, so I havn't noticed much difference yet, but I will keep you guys updated.

Well I would like to do this to my truck, I just hate to have 6 different shades of blue on the truck, So do you think that if i coat it with the black engine enamel and then go for the trucks paint would it stick? And do you think it would hold up?
Thanks,
Cheat.

Well I dont think it would. Besides puting your final color over a black base will slightly darken your top color. And also to you may not get a good bond between the two diff. paint types. and you would want to scuff the engine enamel to remove any type of gloss so you get it to stick better

my hughes kit came with the carbon type felpro manifold gaskets and some rubber wrapped metal end seals. then the pan it self had that crap metal compression gasket so i got the felpro metal with rubber on both sides type for the belly pan.
i was saying that your original gasket is like the first one i looked at, carbon with intermittent lines of blue rubber on each side. i said no thank you to that. and its a good thing too after seeing your original leaky gasket.
