+1 I had Goodyear Fortera's on my Ram and they lasted 14k miles. I figured it was a bad set and Discount warrantied them out. The second set lasted 9k.
The traction sucked and they looked weird IMO. Never again will I buy a Goodyear tire.

Go figure - we had Forteras on a GX470 with 50,000 miles on them, they still had 5/32 tread when we traded it in and traction was great (but might have been due to the fulltime 4wd.)

That said, I've seen a lot of poor Goodyear tires. The StuffMart GY Tracker 2's on my Ram are better than I thought they'd be.

I think I will take it off, although I thought it would be pretty cool looking if it was a real chrome one, like what some of the 3rd gens have. I looked for one like it for mine, but all I found were cheap plastic chrome-looking ones.

By the way, does anyone know how to take one of these off? It was on there when I bought it, but I don't want to take the whole grille off if I don't need to. In the meantime, I'll search to find out.

Use a heat gun to heat up the glue then use a plastic putty knife and gently scrape it off. Then use some polishing compound to get rid of the residue.

In addition to the glue, the middle piece attached to the hood at the very edges. I guess I'll remove the grille and see where to go after that.

Ok, so it is sandwiched between the hood and grille? Mine was just glued on.

Moparama- Look at this page: http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tirete....jsp?techid=46 (There's a lot of tuff there, you don't need to read every single word.

I can't quite see if it's attached to the grill, but there is a bolt holding it onto the hood. I'll find a way to get it off.

I was definitely happy when the Goodyear guys told me what needs to be replaced on my truck (you know they always check so they can get more money out of you). The worst they could come up with was that the Power Steering fluid is a little dirty. If that's the best they've got, I have little to worry about!
the guys at goodyear are on commision...the prices my employer pays them to maintain my van are astronomical....I wont even go into how they misdiagnosed my tranny problem and it ended up costing us $4500 because of a worn torque converter...
everytime I go there I cringe and it isnt even my money getting away!

my father put those tires on his f150 last year....they are nice tires

just dont forget you cant really stop any better than those mustangs I'd hate you to be one of the many suv's and trucks I see in a snowbank or in the rear of some other vehicle all winter long....
