I would like to some point in its life add a 5" lift and at least 35's with some new rims. Thats not a necessity though.
Will be spending more on paying it off and on my Mustang

The tank size depended on not just 1/2 ton or 3/4 ton, but also on model year and body style, as Maroon said.
Extended Cab/Quad cab 1500s got 26 gallon tanks. Extended Cab/Quad Cab 2500s had the option of 34 gallon tanks.
Any long box model (regular cab) got a 35 gallon tank. I know that, in some earlier model years, the 35 gallon tank may have been an option, but especially towards the last years of 2nd gens, it was more of a "standard equipment" type deal.

i thought the 35 was standard on all sc lb trucks of all years
the only thing about it is, when i have to fill it
1) complete tune up (new plugs, wires, and etc)
2) upgrade to brake system (slotted rotors and green pads)
3) 2-3" w/ new shocks by installing diesel coils and 2" add-a-leaf in back
4) 3" body lift
5) gear upgrade to 4.10
6) 35" wheels

Thats what I thought as well, but them someone piped up a while ago (forget whom) with a 1995 or something model year 2500 with the long box and they had a 26 gallon tank. And they swore it came that way from the factory.
