Ok. Its a 360 swap. You guys are right. He showed me the numbers and Proved it was a 360. However, I did not buy it or trade. Thank you all for the great info, and warning signs about the truck. I think I am going to look for another one similar to this, only with 4x4 and a better body.

If your just looking for a stick your probably not gonna find another one with a 360 in it but my friend had a 318 stick and it had plenty of power and was always reliable. And from what I've read you wont have to worry about your tranny going out then either. and 4x4 is always nice with are wisconsin winters

Glad you went another way and avoided him, but just out of curiosity, what "numbers" did he show you to prove it?

I figured it was a 360 swap out...or bored out for the extra power??? hard to say now-a-days in this honest world of ours (ha!). Good choice!

He showed me the engine code. I really didnt mind the truck, just had a bad vibe from it. I could also buy it for $1200. I may attempt that route. Anything that runs is basically worth that. It had a ton of *****! And he also said it was chipped. He hauled a racecar with it.

3. if you swap, you need about $1000-$2000 to boot, or else your giving up money. you may find that 5 speed desirable, but from a value standpoint, its worth less than an auto. and frankly, a 94-95 ST (work truck) is the least valuable of all 2nd gens. (OBD-I, age, lack of accessories, etc). plus the rust...
don't be bashin' 95 rams lolz

i actually like obdI, simple&reliable

but i can't chip it, thats the only pitfall

nothing at all wrong with 94-95.
also 46RH in auto's, less to go wrong,
i'm just talking economics - its not worth as many $ as a 99.
