Lift Advice
I have looked through all of the previous posts and can't seem to find one that answers my question. I'm sure there is one but i just can't find it. I'm looking to get some kind of a lift kit for my truck it's a 2001 1500 SLT/ I don't get a chance to go mudding much or any kind of off road driving so this lift will be used for 80% highway driving. What would you guys recommend ? Also what Tires 33" or 35" ?
I would recommend no lift if your not going to off road much, these trucks stock handle light mud and off roading just fine. Or you can always buy a leveling kit and stick 33's on her, your not going to want to go bigger then a 33" without re-gearing. I would recommend an a/t tire for good road manners, I have BFG and love them but everyones got a different idea of what is best.

it all depends on money.
For a good price you can get a rough country lift about 550-800 bucks for a simple kit(new coils, shocks, lower brackets, and blocks).
If you want to pay more that getting new leaf spring with a softer ride from skyjacker would be the way to go but there about 500 bucks just for the leaf springs.
But if its mostly for road use get a kit that uses lift blocks, that way it uses your factory leafs which dont have to bad of a ride
With a 3 inch lift go 33s
> you can go bigger depending on setup and wheel backspacing
With a 5 inch lift go 35s

Yeah, if 80% of your driving is on the highway, I would not reccomend a lift. Maybe a leveling kit and some 33'' light A/T tires like Brigestone Dueler AT Revo or Toyo ATs.
Maybe spend the money you were gonna spend on a lift on stuff that will make the drivability, handiling, and ride of your truck better; ie Rebuilding your front suspension.

I dont do much off roading but im getting a 3 inch leveling kit and 2 inch blocks for my truck. I think this will make it sit good and it was cheap about $140 off of ebay. And that way I dont have to replace my shocks either. how much do you think this would hurt gas milage doing just a little 2-3" lift

Higher ground clearance = More air flowing under the truck = More drag = Lower MPGs.
