Default Broken Spark plug

So I have owned my truck since 2003 its a 1998 I never did the plugs until last Jan I found my #8 plug had a piece missing I thought I had blown the piece out with some air since it was running fine, But obviously not The trucks #8 cylinder has had 50PSI compression since Jan 09, and has been ticking as well I figure its a collapsed valve, Anyone have any Ideas as to why its been running for 11 months problem free and then yesterday its like on the highway the truck has the hiccups it holds back as if its not getting fuel or air or something is bogging the motor down UI have been very gentle on her since Jan I know the motor is shot but I thought it would last a bit longer than11 months since its only been my backup truck it hasn't even ran 8 k , Anyways love to hear some opinions on what i should do fix it or scrap it Anyone want a parts truck?

did you replace plug number 8 ? maybe the "broken piece" finally gave it up.

also recheck compression on #8. see if its the same 50 psi, or did it get worse.
