Horn and cruise control not working
I have a 94 Ram 1500. When I bought it, the horn and cruse control did not work. I now have a 95 parts tuck and I am trying to fix the horn and curse control. I checked the fuses, there good, I replaced the horns because one of the two was missing, I have replaced the cruse control buttons, I have replaced the vacuum that is under the battery box, not sure if it has anything to do with curse control or not but the cable was not looking very good and lines were brittle. All cables are connected from what I can see. What do I change next or what do I check.
under the battery is the cruise control servo and it has everything to do with the cruise controls functionality.
i believe the clock spring would make the horn and cruise not work. is your airbag light on?

When I bought the truck the air bag had gone off before. The controls on the floor was missing. I replaced the controls on the floor and the air bag out of my parts truck and replace the light in the dash. The air bag light comes on when I start the truck and goes off. I am assuming that it is oberationg properly. Were do I find that spring you were talking about.
i actually had my changed recently as well...you're lucky you have a donar truck, because the part is a dealer-only part and cost me $200+ for a new one, plus labor. the clockspring is actually inside the steering wheel. i'm pretty sure its the clockspring, because i had the exact same problem as you did.
there's a vacuum line leading from the cruise control to the passenger side of the motor, made of cheap plastic. mine got a touch of battery acid on it and it ruined it. might wanna check the line.

Nope, didn't change mine. Had the steering column open, but not dismantled.
Where did you get 94 Dakota? This thread is about a full size truck. Also, this thread is a decade old. Please pay more attention to what you are posting on.
