I believe the VIN is stored in the PCM. The mileage may be as well, although, IIRC, someone once stated it was stored in the cluster itself. Not sure which is true.

Worst case, if the 3715 doesn't work even after the dealership has programmed your VIN into the new PCM (if you get a new PCM), contact Superchips about the VIN lock and explain to them what happened. If you show them a receipt showing you purchased a new PCM, they will unlock the tuner for you. You'll just have to send it to them so they can.

At least, they have for others in the past, anyway.

just tried to restore the stock tuning and it did the engine programming fine (ECM correct?), but failed on the speedo adjust (PCM correct?).

and yeah ive heard both the cluster has the mileage and that SuperChips can fix my 3715 if i send it in.

ew does that mean if i buy a new pcm ill have the deathflash... my truck was lucky enough to not have had it installed ever. going from a performance tune to a deathflash is going to suck lol.

V.I.N. is stored in PCM.
Mileage is stored in Cluster.

In these trucks, I believe the ECM and PCM are two different terms for the same thing, the computer.

Ok so im not even going to bother taking those Dbags to small claims court. not worth my time. but back to the problem at hand. I pulled these codes and have been looking around for a solid answer and the only one i can come up with without taking my truck to dodge and having them scan it for $95, which really is not an option financially atm.

P0900 Clutch Actuator Circ/Open
P0920 Gear Shift Forward Actuator Circ/Open
P0921 Gear Shift Forward Actuator Circ Range/Perf
P0940 Hydraulic Oil Temp Sens Circ Hi
P0950 Auto Shift Manual Ctrl Circ
P0999 Shift Solenoid F Ctrl Circ Hi

anyone had a pcm go bad on em and give something similar? did your odometer flash? did your gauges function (ie. get power and pass the guage test) but get so signal? anything? im about to order a remanned pcm, anyone have any suggestions for where i can get one? im looking at auto computer exchange and dodge auto computers. anyone dealt with either? thanks guys. any help is appriciated.

when i went to inspection with my truck they did the "parking brake test" as the *** who did it called it. well they put my BRAND NEW parking brake on to the floor put it in drive and hit the gas to about 2500 or 3000 before the truck started moving....failed me cuz it "didnt hold" well no sh*t it has 37 inch tires on it of course its not going to hold at 3000 rpms there really only supposed to put it in drive and let off the brake to see if it holds, well anyways after i fail i get in my truck to leave and my CEL is on so i go around dmv to go to the line to tell them and my truck wont leave first gear...great after talking and arguing with the manager for about 35 mins he told me it must have been that way when i came in because they didnt do it, well im damn sure i didnt drive on a highway doing 60 mph in first gear for ten minutes they wouldnt do anything to help me at all said it was completely my fault and they had nothing to do with it. which of course is funny since it never did that before only after they bring it up to 3000 in drive with a parking brake on. i wish my damn trans fell right on the floor id have picked it up and dropped it on the guys desk but i guess dmv can get away with anything because there state workers so its there word over ours of course
