Default Gauges don't work after inspection

i just got my truck inspected and now all of my gauges dont work. i thought to do the guage test and it pulled like 5 or 6 codes from 920, 921, 940, and 999 that i remember. everything worked when i turned off my truck. they inspected it and i started to drive off and noticed my gauges dont work, they have power.

anyone have any ideas? should they be held responsible? they wouldnt even let me speak with a manager and said it was like that when they got it (after they passed it anyway...)

i left my truck there and did not drive it off their property. any suggestions?

truck has never failed me on anything and i find it odd that it breaks when in their possesion.

i gotta bump this, if anyone has any idea plz let me know. this is rediculous. im headed home for the day i guess... and very very pissed off.

oh ya my 3715 showed no codes at all. but the self test did. looks like its PCM related from all the codes and my searching here.

could they have screwed it up when they connected the OBDII? i know my SC says start with truck off, then turn ign to on pos etc without starting the truck, they plugged it in while running. only thing i could think of.

Take it back to who ever inspected it and inform them of this issue. They need to fix it.

look at fuse 14 and 17 in the fuse panel on the dash. see if they're blown.
if they are then the shops scanner could have blown them when they yanked the plug out.

edit: check all your fuses while you have the cover off. check all of the fuses in the PDC as well.

he means exactly that...they have power going TO them, but they just don't work. its actually quite self-explanatory.

think about it, if they dont work how do you know they get power, or im just not thinkin about it right lol

its possible you may need a new cluster, i had a similar problem to my 96 sunfire, and they told me i had to send out the cluster for them to "fix" it

getting power to something doesnt necessarily mean its going to work. you can still have voltage in a wire, meaning that there's power going TO the cluster, but the cluster just doesnt work. hence, what he said: "...my gauges dont work, they have power."

Basically when you turn on the lights they get back-lite, but they don't show speed, rpm, temp etc, etc.
