what is the redline on a v8 5.2 1998 1500dodge ram

 

What is with all these first time posters today?

 

5000 rpm. don't you have a tachometer?

 

I think that some rams don't have a tach on them. At least thats what I remember seeing on a couple of rams.

If I wanted to be a smarta## I would say "redline is about 200 rpm less than when the internals started to break apart." But since Rams have a rev limiter built in, IIRC it kicks in at 5200 rpm. Sheriff, its sad but true some base line and V6 Rams just have a speedo.

 

yes my dad 96 ram 5.2 had no tach.


mine limits at about 5300, only got it up there once, and that was on accident. i never put it above 4 grand, theres no need to IMO

 

Odd. My base model has a tach.

 

maybe it's not a base model then.

 

My old man has a base model...do i need to get a pic of what it looks like with no tach?
