Default Weird turn of events!

Well I work at a dealership here my town and a few techs replaced a heater core on my Ram. Now it shifts around 3k when I am barely on the gas. Weird to me, would the ecu have anything to do with this? It was disconnected when we did the core removal. Anything would get me a start!

Did you check to see if the cable attached to the TB was knocked off?

moparama has the right idea, I think.

To answer your question, no. The PCM/ECU in these Rams does not tell it when to shift 1 to 2 or 2 to 3 or vice versa. The only gear the PCM/ECU controls is the overdrive gear.

The TV cable, I think its called, is on the passenger side of the TB. It controls the shift points. Look it up in the 2001 service manual ("Merry Christmas" thread) or in a Haynes manual, both give a good procedure for adjusting it, IIRC.

On the passenger side of the TB, there are three cables hooked up. Start by making sure that they are all attatched correctly.

Sounds like the TV (Throttle Valve) cable is too tight Loosening it a couple of "clicks" will probably put it right where it needs to be.
