I saw the comment "That truck does not weigh 8,000 lbs" in my email notification.. I take it you deleted that comment...
The gross vehicle weight, straight out of factory, on the door jam, reads 6,010lbs on my truck. Add a Dana 60 front axle, a Dana 60 Rear axle, 37's, and an extra 37" space+rim, I'm guessing it's around 7800-8000lbs.

I'll post a pic of the door jam tag. And the department of transporation is different for every state. IG: I've driven many 23' u-haul trucks with no reverse sound. I've driven semi tractor's with no reverse sounds. Etc.
(I'm responding to your post before you did the edit on audible reverse sounds if they weigh more then 6000lbs)

Read an official review for 2nd gen ram's. This is for a 1500, the LIGHTEST of all the trucks. Read the line where it says they weight just over 6,000lbs from factory.

Now REMEMBER, mine had all the 3500 parts in it. Now read this article on FACTORY weight for a 3500.

That is 10,478.6 pounds.
Now, a 1500 converted into a HD with 3500 parts, MUCH bigger tires, etc, my estimate was about 8,000lbs.

Gross Vehicle Weight =/= Curb Weight. Go find the curb weight and report back.

The difference between gross weight and curb weight is the total passenger and cargo weight capacity of the vehicle. For example, a pickup truck with a curb weight of 4,500 pounds (2,041 kg) might have a cargo capacity of 2,000 pounds (907 kg), meaning it can have a gross weight of 6,500 pounds (2,948 kg) when fully loaded.
When will people learn the difference...
