Default any idea?

hi guys im new to the forum and i have a question about a ram. all i know about it is it is a 318 (i dont even know the year). the owner says it ran poorly and now wont start at all. he put all new spark plugs/caps on it and distributor cap and still no go. i know i dont have many details here but this is all i know about it. im wondering if this could be something like one of you has dealt with before and may be able to help me out. also, i will be getting the truck for free so no loss for me if i cant fix it

fuel pump i would say...does it crank?

If it clicks, it could be the battery or starter

so click or crank?

i dont think its the battery or starter though, as he had it taken to a garage so they probably would of figured that one out.

well if you can get it for free, then its no loss, provided you don't throw away a bunch of money on it. at the worst, you could part it out and make a few hundred from it.

here's the thing though. if he took it to a shop, and its not fixed and he's giving it away, its likely that the shop figured out what was wrong with it, and it was going to be expensive, and the owner doesn't want to dump a lot of money in it. try to figure out from the owner what it was. if you don't understand it, then write it down and come back and post it here.

good luck. $hit i wished somebody had given me a truck....

well the guy is my uncle, and he bought a new truck so he has no need to fix it. he thinks it could be the computer gone, but i am not so sure. like i said before i dont think its the battery or starter as it did run poorly for some time before it wouldnt start. im not TO worried about it being expensive, as i may look for a parts truck. also i dont get my licence for a year and a half so i have lots of time lol. thanks for the help so far.
