I totally uderstand your point thats why I only mentioned the ride quality would suffer in the beginning and didnt really rag on the budget lift until you claimed it would have better ride quality that a suspension or body lift....I couldnt let that one go and it got me fired up....
truth be told I'm going to likely use an 1 1/2 coil spacer to gain the extra inch of clearence (my front tires rub at full lock on small bumps now that I have rims with less backspacing) and level it out or I may still do a small lift and go higher since I need new shocks anyway.....whatever I can afford depends on how the truck treats me and how broke I am next spring from this depression.

i can just remember how when I only had a body lift I hated driving the thing cuz of how rough it was. Seemed like it did worse in mud... then when I installed a suspension lift, it was ten times better. But each is different I'm sure. To top it off I'm pretty sure I invested in a POS kit that a friend recommended.

What size tires do you have? And it's off topic but do all the 4x4 dodges come with a lift block in back? or only offroad editions?

4x4 1500 rams have the lift block, 4x2 doesn't.

augiedoggy, do your tires rub the back of the fenders? i did the small lift because i wanted it higher but if i was just looking to get rid of the rubbing then i would have looked into just modifying the fenders.
mine rubbed right about here on bumps in full lock>
if you just want to stop the rubbing then you ought to see what is behind the part of the fender that pokes into the wheel well to see if you can heat it up with a heat gun to make it soft then press a piece of flat metal against where it rubs until it cools off so it will hold its shape to get rid of your rubbing issue.

thats a great idea as mine rubs in the exact same spot...only problem is I have diamond plate alum. mud guards there....it would be easier for me to install the spacers than do the cutting required of them...

didn't know about the guards.
good luck getting the springs out. i was going off what someone else posted about how you can get them out by jacking up the opposite side of the axle and dropping the side you're on and it didn't work. i had to take the track bar loose. then i had to use a come along to get the axle back over far enough to reconnect the track bar.

its a pretty easy install but if you try with the track bar connected then it can get a little annoying. unless your front springs are really worn out, then you'll be able to get them out no problem.
