if you do gut it on the truck like i did cut it behind the cat and then take the rest of the exhaust off all the hangers but the one in just behind the muffler you can move it around alot easyer and be preparied to get covered in all that ceramic garbage. Im not shure if it will pass any emissions though

That's what I put on my truck, cherry bomb. They've changed the design since I last bought one years ago though.... now they have a rifled cheese grater type deal inside instead of just mesh. It's reversible but I dunno which way is better, I put mine on the most straight flowing way that I can see.....

I have been driving cat-less for about 8 months, no problems not even a code.
Lucky for me I don't have to concern myself with emission tests, or any test for that matter.

I have a question here. I heard some people's gas milage went down from this. And not from a heavy foot either. Atleast thats what i think ive read. I cant really afford any worse milage than im getting. I thought i was getting perdy good gas milage untill i figured out i was calculating wrong. And acually im getting like 10.8-11 MPG... Will my gas milage go down? Obviously if milage goes down then it does effect somthing other than sound.... I dont want my truck to run rich from this either. Did i read wrong? Will running with no cat truely do anything besides make it sound great? Just wondering before i take my cat off. I am planning to do so after Christmas. Cant wait! Im not going to gut my cat tho. Im going to put a peice of pipe there in its place. That way there will be more back pressure than with just gutting that big peice of steel.

It might go down, but if its plugged, you will get better gas milleage gutting it. My truck was abot 10 like 5 months ago, now with the plugged cat, its about 8, on a good day.

I gutted mine right after I passed my last emissions test. Took almost a month for my check engine light to come on. Doesn't matter to me because I will be moving to a state that has o emissions testing by the time it would need testing here again.

how did you determine that your cat was clogged -- im feeling a lack of power under power at high rpms, and poor gas milage, (and if i lay on the gas the check engine light will start blinking) ...but i pulled out that o2 sensor right in front of the cat and didnt really notice a difference, just got louder...

i just replaced my plugs, dist cap and rotor, they were pretty fowled. the problem got better after that but is still there... thanks~

Also, if it bogs down alittle going up hills, idles funny some times it could be the cat. Start the truck and get it worm, get under the truck and touch before the cat, then after the cat. If it is alot warmer before the cat then after, then that means it could be bad too.
