keep in mind the final rpms on here are without OD but the recommended gears to be stock or close are still the same.

ok i cant make up my mind now after looking through this chart yall think i should just go with the 4.88 gears?!?!?!!!!! im leaning towards yes but im gonna get yalls advice 4.56 or 4.88 and i do a good amount of towing and alot of off roading if that helps with the descion making since someone will probably ask if i ever tow. so come on guys lets hear the vote 4.56 or 4.88

Hell I have 4.10's with 265X70X16 and I want to run smaller. I'd like something around 28.5 to 29 inches but wide like a 255X65X16.

Go with the 4.56s with 31-33" and 4.88's if you go any bigger.

I agree, I will run 4.88s with 35" tires. 4.56 with 33s should be right in the sweet spot.

I wish I had 4.56 gears. Right now I only have 3.92, but we'll see if I plan on gears in the future.

just dont come back here complaining about poor mpg....lol...4.56 and 33" tires will be very powerful and fun and torquey to drive but its gonna be one hell of a pig on gas.... I get about 13 mpg with 35" tires and 4.56 on the highway....(its actually better in the city ?go figure).

With your truck being 2WD (lacking a low range) and you doing a fair amount of wheeling, I would suggest 4.88's with 35's.
