no the 9.25 axle CAN handle the 4.56's

but whatsize tire are you going to run? if your running just 265's-315's id say just go with 4.10's anything bigger, then i would get the 4.56's

You're 2wd can take any gear set. The rear 9.25 corporate axle does not need a new carrier. You can get up to 4.88 sized gears

The front axle on a 4x4 is a Dana 44 and it would require a new carrier or a "thick" gear set.

keep in mind the final rpms on here are without OD but the recommended gears to be stock or close are still the same.

I have 4.10s, and it was nice when I had 265/75/16 tires, then I got the 35s... it is usable, and i do, a lot, but it needs improvement. I would much rather sacrifice some highway RPM for more torque, its like a difference of 250rpm in O/D between 4.10s and 4.56... ill take the 4.56s... accually, with my 35s, i want 4.88s.
