Default New Water Pump whining

ok i have only 8K on my brand new (not remaned or used) water pump and fan clutch, 16K on a brand new radiator, 1K on hoses and thermostat.

now the trucks heat and temp and everything is fine, but i can hear the water pump whining. it sounds like its comming from inside the water pump, not outside. gets louder as i hit the gas, and sometimes it goes away. its not loud byany means. by its enough where i can just here it when inside the truck, and when under the hood its loud enough for me to pinpoint where it is.

any help would be great.

That's happened to me a couple times...spray some WD-40, (or jiffy lube), onto pulley shaft area while running...usually noise stops...unless you got a bum pump with a crappy bearing/bushing...

Right on 95RAM360,...I usually..., (after fixing/modifying the chassis/engine), oil guard the whole truck...including the engine compartment. No squeaks or squeals on my truck! *(I mix..i- gallon mixture of 30% varsol,..50% tranny oil,..and 20% "RustCheck" oil), loads up my spray gun,..put compressor to 40 p.s.i., ..and blast away.. chassis..springs,..axles...everything...door jambs,..engine compartment, under hood,..engine + trans.,.. front end,...**(for inner roof,..and pillar posts etc.,.. I drill a few holes,..and get the rubber plugs from "RustCheck" to ...plug 'em!...DONE DEAL!!

I've done this, (WD-40 spray), many times on many vehicles,...and it's usually just "dust" or just plain lack of lubrication from the factory in thier parts..or evaporation,..(sitting on shelves disipates lubricants..). I've never had one seize on me that I sprayed for "squealing".
