Anyone notice that if you beat the **** out of your truck all the time, that it will last longer? I have noticed with farm rigs and other rigs that have had the **** beat out of them daily, that they last longer than babied rigs. Or am i just seeing things lol?

Beat on and driven like a damn race car are two different things. I've seen Rams get beat up puttering around the field, that are never driven hard and they last. On the other hand, I see new vehicles die at 50,000 miles because the person driving it thought it was a formula one car and their name was Mario Andretti.

lol

i beat the crap out of my 07 Focus i had (100,000 mile warrenty...why not)and the car was dead at 27K, and the dealer said it was self-inflicted so they took my warenteee away and wouldnt fix it.

Clutch was blown, sounded like the rod was going to go though the block. and they wouldnt fix it. so i gave it back....and i had 7K go on my credit report, and i STILL paid the damn thing off, which i kinda regret, cuz i could have 7K to dump in my RAM

My Pontiac Grand Am GT blew the first day i had it when i shift from 3-4 at 80 MPH's, had chunks falling to the ground.

Beat the $h!t out of my 96 Oldsmobile ciera 3.1, and by 75K i had already replaced the oil pan twice, motor and tranny.

as for my ol' Pontiac Sunfire i had, she had 212 original motor, and still ran like a champion. had to put a new tranny and clutch in it. i had it decked out with lots of engine mods, body kits etc. then i got tired of the fast and the furious, and bought my first truck (93 Nissan 4x4 with 67K) rebuilt that truck, then bought my RAM, and now im rebuilding it.

so i cant really agree with that lol.

I think its because they are usually older simpler and has had all the weaker components fail and replaced early in its life already....It doesnt take a genius to see the more complicated they make these newer vehicles the most that goes wrong and the more it costs to maintain soon they will cost more than our homes to own (for some its already true ).... thats why I like to stick to older rides generally....(96 ram is the newest one I own except the vstar bike I bought new in 05)

What's wrong with the short bus? No matter what you get to ride in the back of the bus! So your part of the cool kids!
