Default 4 wheel drive issue

Hello, the probem with my 99 ram 4x4 is this, truck will not engage into 4 high, I tried it in 4 low and I can pretty much tell that it is going into 4 low, although there is NO indicator light coming on either way. I have 1 vacuum hose coming from the CAD to a free hanging end with a plastic nipple on the end, surprised this isnt connected to anything. What do you guys think the problem could be as its not going into 4 high and no light?

Well sounds like your vacuum disconnect is toast. Time to order a new one! Common problem on the rams.

You might want to read through this thread and do a search for others. Very common problem with these trucks.
