I have had to pull my dash to replace the core and condenser - I seem to remember that there was a box drain tube going thru the engine firewall

I also dropped the fan out to inspect the cores for florescent dye - Needed a flex mirror and flex light to see inside

Edit - Sorry did not read all the through the thread

Blake, that looks like it, but get a pic of it a little further away so I can see what is surrounding it. If it is the drain tube, it looks like it has been crimped for some reason or has been melted..

It only takes me an hour to pull the whole dash out of my truck now!...lol. I had to replace my heater core last week. That drain is for the blower motor by the way. Check your heater hoses and see if they are leaking and going inside to drain?

hey do you have pictures or a DIY for that? i took my truck in last year because my A/C would run out after a month or so. found out i have a leak at the compressor and evaporator. has anyone heard of the compressor leaking? also, my floorboard gets wet as well but it only seems when i run the a/c. anyway, i plan on doing the heater core as well. i've never done any major work like this so pictures would be awesome. thanks in advance.

a compressor leaking???? jesus how is this possible? BTW they put dye into the system and that is how they found the leaks.

Depending on where you are and what you have in the radiator, it wont always smell like antifreeze if all you have is water in the radiator.

i would say heatercore leak.

did your dash happen to crack while taking it out? i think that would be one of my main concerns during this project.

my dash did crack, but i did it wrong the first time. My dash was to far gone tho the first time i did it. There was so many cracks in it from the begaining. That and a $200 at the junk yard for a new one that had no cracks wasn't to bad in the end.
