Default Leveling kit is a go!

Got early Christmas gifts tonight. One was 200 bucksm so I am going to level the front and get a remote start kit for my truck(if I have enough). Woohoo!

I also want to know, I have the stock shocks, how long do you think they will last just driving around with the kit? No serious off roading at all. No huge bumps.

One can never know how long a shock will last but I wouldn't worry about needing new ones for quite some time with only a leveling kit. Congratulations and on a remote start if you plan on buying one off eBay it is quite difficult to install. Better off trying to find a truck place that sells them and will install them that way you get a lifetime warranty.

Thanks. I am having them install it for me haha. I can do mechanical, but I suck at electrical :P. So my plan is 2.5 in leveling kit up front. Then around May I will be tossing tires on. Anyone think 305-75-16s will fit ok or must a stay with the 285-75s? Different wheels of course if I went 305s.

Depending on how wide your wheel is along with backspacing, you could fit 305's but would probably end up having to trim the inside of the fender a little. 33's are suppose to be the biggest with a leveling kit. 35's with a 3 inch lift. I've seen people fit much larger though. Have to be willing to sacrifice your fender though and backspacing is a key component.

I might stay with 285s so I don't have to cut. Idk yet. I am also worried about wheel bearings going boom running 305s.

Haha still to excited to decide. I think even if I go 285s I will get a set of black steel wheels like you have on your truck. I may screw the remote start and go with a full on 3in lift. Then I know I can toss 305s on it =P

I have a remote start and its kinda only cool if your showing off to some hottys haha. If I could go back I probably wouldn't buy it again just because I paid $200 for it (installed). Its definitely a good idea to replace wheel bearings when adding a lift and bigger tires.

if you went with a different offset wheel or wheel spacers I think you could run the 305's.... They are more likely to hit on your trailing arms when you turn than the fenders. Do your 285's hit the arms now? mine do just a bit at full turn but they have lots of fender clearance, enough to go up another size anyway.....

Definitely get the leveling kit though at the very least. Makes a big difference in how they look I find. Its the next thing I am buying for mine
