got stuck...at work
Ok so i work at the firework stand during seasons. Well today i pull in (after just gettin back from deer camp) and i thought it was in Reverse (i have a manual) and i turned it off, and let the clutch out.. it wasnt. so my front tires went into a about a 1ft deep hole, which i shouldn't have parked next to. They told us to park on the ends so i did. anyway i figured i couldn't do anything about it. So my gf is working there too, she has the white truck. i figured i'd get her to pull me out. so its about close and we punch out, along with everyone else and we try and yank it out.. didn't work for crap. So our boss finally shows up, and i get him to do it. he used one of the company's 5 2007 dodge ram 5500's. OMG! he strapped up and didnt touch the gas and i went right on out emergency brake on and all. I was like Damn! Keep in mind that is a 6.7L cummins dually, with a 5.96 rear end. i mean damn.
Yeah I watched a friend of mine use his manual 2nd gen cummins to pull someone out like that. An Impala was bottomed out hanging over a ditch and all he did was let the clutch out. Never touched that gas. Those diesels are impressive.
i had never heard of a dodge 5500 until a couple months ago when i was on the dodge website drooling over the 2010 heavy duty rams.
i got my sisters old 2wd standard nissan stuck in some mud a few years back with no one to pull me out and i took a chain out of the bed and zig zag'd it behind the back right tire and put it in reverse and pumped the gas pedal a few times and worked it on out. i wish my truck was a stick shift.
