Cool throttle spacer...good or bad

i have a 99 1500 5.9 that runs very strong......is it a waste of money to buy a throttle body spacer? will it make a single difference? at all ?

complete waste of time.
the injectors are right at the head port, theres already a huge plenum area, so raising the throttle body does nothing.

Your bud is full of ****. There is no single mod on these trucks that will give you 3-4 mpg gain. If there were, we would all have it on our trucks because such a great mod would be common knowledge. The performance gain he felt is because his wallet is missing $100 he spent on the TB spacer, so the trucks weight-to-horsepower ratio has improved when he is sitting in it.

What are you trying to accomplish? You run a full size 4x4 truck with 5" lift an 35's. Please don't tell me you are trying to get good gas mileage now, because it just isn't going to happen. If that's what you want, then sell your truck and get soemthing that actually gets better gas mileage. Or, buy a little beater car for a few hundred bucks that gets great gas mileage, and drive it when you need to save on gas, and keep your truck for when you need it or want to drive it. That's what I did. I have a 1995 Suzuki Swift that gets 46 mpg without even trying, and it only cost me $1500. I drive it to work most days, and bank the money I am saving so I can do more stuff to my truck. Best $1500 I ever spent. There is nothing on the face of the earth that I could have bought for $1500 and installed on my truck that would make it get 46 mpg. The Swift paid for itself in 6 months, and is saving me money every day I drive it. When it finally craps out, i'll through it away and get another one.
