Oil leaking now :(
Noticed this morning there was a couple of spots of oil on the ground.
Looks like the front and back of engine. This is about 1 week after the plenum fix. When I put the intake back on i was sure to put RTV on all the corners, ect. Also, maybe this has something to do with it. Its been in the 60's and 70's here, and today it was about 40. Could the temp change cause an oil leak. There is alot of "No Oil Leak" at the auto parts store, but will it help or is it snakeoil? I am running Full Synthetic Mobil 1 10W-30, should I try Dino oil or a thicker oil? This really bothers me..
Why dont you find a place to pull it in or just dress heavily (be glad your not in ky its like 9 Deg. Outside) And find out where its comming from exactly. Theres no way to know what might fix it if you havn't seen whats leaking.
The Diesel, I know. It really sucks. I will get some degreaser, clean everything off really well, and then try to find the leak I guess, right?
Would RESTORE engine additive work?

As far as the oil leaks you have, my money's on the Synthetic. It's great at wicking dirt away. Is the oil leak on the lower part of the engine? My first guess is that you need to replace your rear main seal and timing cover seal.

Might try the lucas... I have been running synthetic for over 15K miles now. See, there is some oil, that drips from the rear main seal and timing cover areas, but I am pretty sure its coming from the upper engine, the whole thing is wet. Yet, I am still full of oil.
If it's also coming from the top, then it's probably your valve covers also...all it takes is a little oil to make a big mess. I personally wouldn't touch Lucas Oil stabilizer. It's just a band aid that hides your problem. Deal with the issue at hand and fix it for good.
