Have you checked your oil level recently?

The only reason why I asked was because my truck burns oil or I have a bad plenum gasket and I have to put oil in it sometimes. Well I didn't add any for awhile because I sorta forgot about it and I had the same problem you are having. Needless to say I was over 3 quarts low.

a lot can burn up in 1500 miles especially if your plenum gasket is leaking...

mine did that once right after I got it and it was low on oil, that or sender.

I have got to figure out how to turn mine of because I have aftermarket gauges so that is driving the dashboard crazy.

yea oil level since you said it stays at 40 after it drops, that because its takes like 43 seconds for regular oil to completly cycle through the whole motor, synthetic is like 30 seconds....(after its been sitting and the oil has settled)

^yes these are facts, i may be alittle off on the times though...

so check the level
