problems with an electric fan conversion

If you buy a fan controller it comes with a relay built into it and a temp sensor that you jam into your rad. that way you dont have to contstanly watch your temp gauge and flip a switch everytime it heats up like some people do.

If you do buy a probe type temp sensor, an old trick for that is to wrap the probe in foil and stick it in the rad. That way you won't get a false reading with the wind interfering.

yeah, my controller is one from autozone and i have a relay, the fuseholder that melted was a small one. after that i ordered a maxi fuse holder........i believe the mark8 and the taurus fans are different

The foil trick is a good idea. ill do that to mine. my fuse holder also blew and i just replaced it with one from a tractor. My dad owns a tractor dealership so when i can use somethin i do. idk how many john deere parts are on my truck. lol.

i was thinkin that i wanted the thread in type that plugs into the intake by the thermostat, figured those are more accurate

You can also get ones with a thread in sensor.

all the guys with two speed fans how do you control the two speeds? and how do i tell if my fan is two speed?

im pretty sure the two speed is just two power chords and one ground. one power is for the high and one is for the low. they make two speed controllers. spal sell them as does summit.

the mark8 fan is a 2speed, but on mine and others ive read about, you have to have the electrics from the car b/c just swapping wires is the same speed
