Default Jet Performance Module?

Hi, newly registered to the forum but have been a lurker for about 1 year.
I have a 1995 Ram 1500 5.2 Auto and am looking at upgrades this winter. Short list is a new timing chain and injectors, shorty headers, and a Flowmaster exhaust (2.5" off of headers to 3", back to 2.5" tail pipes). Since my truck is OBD I and none of the normal tuners work (Diablo, SuperChips etc.), about the only option is the Jet Module. Has anyone used one? On their web site they have some pretty crazy gains posted but I'm looking for an unbiased opinion whether these actually work. BTW, my truck has 175000 miles and has never had any issues besides 1 bad injector (my dad owned the truck since 99). This isn't something to brag about, more of a testament that these trannies can last, but the tranny has never been touched, I mean not even a fluid change (that will be done as well this winter). Future plans call for a 5.9 swap when the 5.2 gives up the fight.

hoss67, you need to do some more research. I know superchips works for your truck, but im not going to go through and list all of the possibilities for you. Since you have a newer truck, I think you'll find that most tuners work for you.

W023Coronet, as far as your, most find that the jet chip does not do much of anything. At least that is the general consensus on the forum. I do have a stage 2 jet chip that I had installed for a little bit of time. I did notice my truck did start differenty, but didn't notice much difference driving wise. I can not comment on mileage, but the power seemed the same to me. To get real gains, see if you can hold out for a "mopar pcm". They are a bit tougher to find but I hear they are not a bad choice.

no personal experience, but i've never heard anything good about JET. only bad things like excessive pinging, and broken wiring harnesses/pcm connectors from the added weight of the module attached to the pcm.

those jet chips honestly don't do anything. you can't get a performance programmer for an obd1 computer. and summit and jegs sells the only thing that will increase performance, which is a mopar performance pcm. summit sells it for $265 i think.
