Default My heat isn't blowing cold!!

Ok I have a quick question about my 98 Ram. Last night my heat was working great! Not a problem at all! It was super cold last night and got down to about 8. Yesterday afternoon I checked my fluids in my radiator and it was full and green so I know there was anti freeze in there. However, the reserve tank was not full. Anyways, this morning I went outside to start my truck up. It was for about 15 minutes before I drove it. My ride to work is 3 miles and usually I get heat before I get to work when I let it run before hand. Well this morning the thermostat got to where it usually gets every other day...but my heat was blowing nothing but cold air!! And usually when the temp is where it should be the heat will blow warm! Now I'm worried. Do you think maybe it's because there wasn't enough anti freeze in there? Should I fill the reserve tank with it and drive for awhile to see if that fixes it. I'm worried the heater coil may be froze and I don't know anything about that. Would it bad to drive it while it's frozen. Please help..It's Friday and the mechanics I called are busy and this weekend is supposed to be the coldest temps we've seen in years....

I'm going to bet you have a leak in your heater core. Fill the reserve tank and you'll probably have heat for a while until it pumps it out. Try it and see if the reserve tank drops again.

Probably didn't run long enough. It could be frozen.Let it idle for about 30 min. and keep an eye on it to see if it overheats or starts steaming. If it does, and it still has no heat blowing out,it's frozen.

Ya I live in TN...it's like 10 degrees and with the windchill it feels like 3!! I guess what I'm going to do is fill the reserve tank up and ride around and see how the heat is.

Don't ride around that will make it worse.Just sit and idle til it warms up and then Idle it up a little and see if you get heat.

Sounds like a lack of coolant in the heater core, did you have any gurgling noises?
