just for the sake of discussion - assuming an insurance value of $3000 and a repair estimate of $2500, and ignoring rental car for the moment, you could ask/insist on a repair. from an insurance standpoint they might estimate $250 value for the wreck, so after they pay you 3000 and sell the wreck for 250, their loss is 2750 (plus rental). if all else fails, you could review the repair estimate very carefully, and offer to settle for 2750 or 3000 or 3250 as their maximum liability on the repair. there's a rental car value floating around in there. assuming you can get by, don't lose it, but trade it's value for repairs as needed. its about 20-25 a day for them.

You lost me on the last part. I am not planning on getting a rental though. So -2750, plus the very minor fees for the doctor appt/meds (<$50). If they really would sell it for $250 I'll buy it off them lol..Thought that it'd be worth more than that to be honest. Guess we'll see what they say.

Well, that's what they get for being a pencil pushing ignoramus that never sees the light of day. They actually asked what that CTD meant, and I just told them that it was a trim acronym.

I wouldn't bother trying to repair that. You are going to run into so many hidden problems with damage on that side of the engine bay.
