nice ive seen those things at AZ for 25 bucks....i think ill get a stabilizer for the hell of it, since pretty much everything else will be new in my front end....just need trac bar, and drop pitman arm.
can the steering stabilizer cause any hop when turning? and how do you know if the are gone? i think mine might be bent beccause when i did my plenum, i was standing on the sway bar in my engine, and a couple times, on accident, i put all my weight down on only the steering stabilizer....So how do i know if its gone, and how much are the rough countrys? can you get those at AZ or advance? i looked online and couldnt find them. Now that i think of it, the hop started after i did the plenum the first time...Just want to know because i have new ball joints, wheel bearings, u-joints, axle seals, tie-rods and brakes going on this week, becuase i dont want my new tires to get the wear my old ones had....and ill be pissed if i put all that in and it doesnt fix the problem of hopping....ive bought the parts, and am about to install (starting today), and i want to know if i need to get a stabilizer as well.
Mine was bent, caused me some binding when I turned to the right. I bought the Skyjacker dual kit, rough contry doesn't make one for 2nd Gens...
Ok perfect, like i said im going to replace it anyways now....thanks for that pic, lol its so complex but it takes alot of pressure off to see that thats all you need to break it free...and my breaker bar will crack anything loose lol.
95 ram if your looking for a rough country stabilizer i got mine from top gun customz off of ebay for $45 shipped with a red shock boot and it was about four times the size of the puny stock stabilizer. I definatley noticed a diffrence on bumpy roads
Will the steering stabilizer help if when I'm on the highway going 65 and I hit a bump the truck darts to the left and I have to correct? Or are there other parts I should address first? Just got the truck and still need to check the track bar, and also want to get an alignment.
i had a problem with one on a grand cherokee, its tapered, and ended up drilling out the bolt it was so stuck. i also may be mistaken, but does it have the tip for a pin to go through, you may not be able to tap it because it will mushroom... good luck!
I wondered why people were having problems gettin the shock off.... mine is a different setup, the shock bolts to a bracket which is held onto the tierod by U-bolts.... I see that's a 2wd, is the setup different between the 2?
