WHAT COULD THIS BE?? Cooling issue...

my problem isn't the truck running hot though...its the fact that the truck runs fine and then suddenly the temperature increases and the heater stops working....its as if suddenly the pump doesn't pump anymore. it pushes a bunch of water into the reservoir. When i take off the cap it is mostly air pressure that i release....

Okay i'm losing my mind over this one!
I have a new pump, new thermo, new radiator but the engine doesn't always cool....
it works for a while, then stops then works again. Every time it stops working, i no longer have a heater which leads me to believe the water is not circulating....now when it does not cool and temp gets to about 210 before i shut the engine off, i go to the front and the cap has let water out all over the engine. Is it supposed to do that or should it just release pressure into the overflow container?
Anyone looking for a truck? i'm selling this one!!!

Can you break down what you did to bleed the system and how you filled it after you changed out the parts? I would bet the farm that you have an air block...good news is that you can remedie it.

i did it two different ways....the first time i tried was i filled it...started the truck and kept filling it as it warmed up until no more fit....that didn't work so i let the truck sit cold...filled it came back 20 mins later filled it 20 mins later filled it...etc. etc. then i took it to a radiator shop and they completely drained the block and refilled it which i found out didn't work. Today they put another rubber thing on the radiator cap and tried that but it didn't work again so its going to go back tomorrow morning.

i took the thermo out to see if that would make a difference. it didn't but now since it takes so long for the truck to warm up i was able to watch the water in the radiator. I have very slow bubbles...one every 5 to 10 seconds and they're small bubbles....any ideas? compression is fine and everything is fine. i got a new compression guage.my old one was messed up...
