Default Dual Exhaust suggestions

I have an '01 2500 5.9 and im getting dual exhaust. Im only 16 so i do not have any experience at all. i was wondering what everyone thought was the best. what kind of mufflers, what kind of cats, pipe size, x-pipe or not, etc.

Any advice is helpful.

depending on emissions laws in your area, delete the cat (the factory unit is a piece of sh*t, mines gone)

also put a glasspack on it and dump it before the front tire (easy, and super cheap)

Red i think you mean the rear tire?

and hes wanting to do duals lol

anywhoo..as said depending on your emission laws..i plan on running true duals from before the cat..no cat..then into a flow master dual in.dual out super 44
for the record i plan doin 3 inch all the way back from the manifolds..

on my truck at the current moment is a gutted cat, and a super 40 flowmaster

and if you have to have a cat..try a magnaflow high flow cat

Like has been stated find out if you have a visual inspection/emissions testing if you do your going to need cats if not I would get rid of it and do 2.5in duals into a dual in dual out muffler magnaflow makes one and I think flowmaster makes one

If you end up doing a single I would go 3in with what muffler you want depends on how loud, I have had good luck with magnaflow and then dump at the rear axle

I agree with dakota unless you have the mods to flow enough(heads, intake manifold) and a decent cam your going to lose more power than gained going that big with duals
