NV3500 Oil Change
Anyone (with the NV3500) ever change the oil in the thing? I may have a syncro issue, but have been advised to try changing the oil in it first. From what I was told, syncros affect all forward gear shifting and clutch only affects reverse? Does that sound right or a load of horse ****? Zero issues going into reverse, but 1st is a little rough unless barely rolling. 2nd growls, I try not to let it grind.
From what I understand Dodge says to only use Dodge fluid in the NV3500, but found a few forums that say AMSOil 5w30 is the best way to go.
Thoughts/Issues?
Thanks.
p.s.
I've also hear the NV4500 is a better tranny, If I end up having to get work done to the NV3500 I'll opt to change over to the NV4500.

Ok, found the lube question has been answered. Funny how I had to do a google search to find an answer on here.
So long as it meets the mopar specs, such as royal purple syncro max, I'll be fine.
Now I just need to find out if the "faulty clutch affects Reverse, Syncros affect forward shift" is a load of malarky or not. We're having a heat wave this weekend (34) will be a good time to drain and fill.

We don't have advance auto here
Also the pennzoil is supposed to work as well. Probably just gonna go to the stealership and pick up the mopar stuff if I don't find the royal purple soon.
From what I hear adding shipping to the over all cost is far better than paying "dealer" prices. But, then I don't know what the dealer prices are in my town, or yours.

When i looked it up, dealer was wanting like 25 dollars a quart? or 7 dollars a quart for what i bought iirc. I believe amsoil makes a compatible fluid as well? Do you have oreilly where you live? Thought they carried one of the brands as well, or they or autozone may be able to order it for you.
Nobody as of a few years ago (when I last read about it) makes a compatible fluid for the Mopar fluid. I highly doubt that Royal Purple is cheaper or is even compatible. That was something I forgot in the Fluid FAQ. If someone could give me the Mopar # I could post it up in the FAQ and maybe even find an aftermarket cross refrence.
That may not prove to be true. I know sometimes that my dealer is the same price or lower than aftermarket. In most cases where they cost more, I look how much higher the dealer is than NAPA. I would seriously check your dealer before you buy anything.
