Default Good day today!

Superchips programmer showed up and works, just ran the milage tune to start. I'll be making a longer trip on friday so I'll see how much of a difference it'll make then.
Then I was standing talking to my insurance agent as he was taking pictures and I noticed my exhaust tips say magnaflow on them I've noticed that the sound was more than ussual but did'nt know how to find out what was different from stock but now I think I know.

Glad it got to ya fine. How do you like the truck so far?

I'll warn you, the mileage probably won't be a great deal more on the "economy" tune. The performance tune on the Superchips usually gets the best mileage, but uses 91+ octane fuel.

Any problems, let me know.

^ I disagree.. I can get a solid 18 mpg on the highway in mileage mode and only get about 10mpg in super modewith 93 oct.

skab, did you notice any difference in the shift pattern, and does it shift to OD and TC at a higher speed than before ?

mine did. MUCH MUCH better. no more shift into OD at 40mph, which was STUPID.

I did'nt get a chance to realy run it the highway last night but should this morning. I do notice that in town the shifts are smootherand thottle response seems improved/smoother.
I got 14.5 on the highway before putting this in but to be honest it's the city milage I'ld like to see an improvement in. Under normal driving I ussualy keep the rpms below 2500. Of course I did have to make the obligatory 0-60 test a couple of times and I think the torque in the lower end must be up a bit as she'll burn the tires for about 15 feet without have to brake stand it.
I'm waiting for the controller for my electric cooling fan right now and better intake filter setup which I expect to make as much a difference for milage as my fan clutch is locked up causing the fan to be pulling all the time.

I wouldn't even check the MPG until you get the tire burning and the performance test out of your right foot!LOL

what is the "economy" mode? ive only used the 91 performance mode since i got the chip and its awesome, but i only have towing, 91 and 87. is 87 the mpg mode? i start school next week and its a 30min drive so i need any mpgs i can get. also what do you guys do by way of the rev limiter? i think mine is on 5600 now, would it be any better maxed out or should i bring it back down a little?

Unless your planning to excede the RPM "red line" of 5000 RPMs, I would say, no.Chime in fellas.

Eh, no, it doesn't. There is not one tuner available to these trucks that will adjust shift points. Being that the tuner only has effects on the PCM, and that our trannies are not controlled by the PCM, there is no shift point adjusting.

Now, it may feel like it has adjusted shifting, but what you are really feeling is extra performance out of the motor, and that is causing the transmission to stay in 1, 2, 3(OD) longer.
