Well replaced the IAC tonight.... the stock one was beat to hell, just blackened... the plunger fell out when I took it off. But I couldn't fit my wrenches back there and ended up having to yank the throttle body. I reset the PCM and when it warmed up after a dip of the throttle it would almost die and then revive itself upon letting of the gas again... I decided to drive it thinking it may have just been the PCM relearning or something. after i had her running for about 15 more mins after shutting of and restarting it seemed ok... . what are the symptons of a bad plenum? Is it what I've been describing?

sounds bout the same as when i changed mine. as for the plenum, others could prolly discribe it better, but for me, it starts 'loading' up while cruising, cutting out and wanting to stall, and really rough idle due to the O2 senser reading too rich and leaning out the fuel.

What do you mean by loading up? like an increase in engine speed but no increase in actual traveling speed? Thats whats happening to me...

I replaced the IAC last night and I ended up pulling the throttle body and cleaning it because it was a mess, but now it seems like theres a whistle when I'm accelerating and increased air noise? like when accel or revving i hear a lot of air circulation when i have the windows up in the cab.

naw, more like the motor CAN'T build RPMs and loss of speed and power, bad 'pinging' and also the sucking of air, almost like a vacuum leak, like you discribed which im guessing is the leaning out of the fuel. but thats only a guess cuz i've checked for vacuum leaks and everythings cool except when it does this

You were referencing the Plenum right? (sorry I'm usually better that this stuff but these ram problems are all new to me)

lol i like this one well, a cheaper fix, the one im doing, is the hughes plenum plate which runs bout $140. im buyin a used intake from a guy on here and doin my own mod to the stock intake, installing the plenum and gonna swap out the whole assembly in one shot. should only run bout $230 total. maybe have the wife do the labor for ya...... even out the universe... haha
