Is there a DIY somewhere that mentions it? I can't seem to find anything on it. I'll keep looking but I need to get it done yesterday. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Depending on what OBD you have, it also could mean: Torque converter clutch solenoid CKT is out of range.

This applies to OBDI up to 97 models that were OBDI 94-97.

I don't know what's in the DIY on here.

Good luck,

CM

do you have a gasket between the throttle body and the air box? and did you put the o ring (or gasket) on the IAC? also, did you clean out the hole that the pintle plugs? q tips and carb cleaner work good for cleaning that out.

UPDATE!-- Hughes Plenum is done and truck runs like a rabbit from a combine! New IAC. (Tip-- DO NOT TOUCH IT! IT'LL COST YOU!) and about 4ft. Of replacement vacuum lines. Not to mention- cat delete, radiator, hoses, fan clutch, t-stat, fuel injectors, plug wires, cap and rotor, e-3 plugs, and some other misc wallet demons. Thank God.
it's too cold to be that busy working on the truck.

If you have an automatic transmission, your truck's lock-up convertor may not be unlocking.

Yes, I have an automatic. Is there a way to test for this without removing the trans? Also, where is the Torque converter control solenoid, and the Trans temp sensor?

I know at the dealership they hook up a scan tool, lock it up and it kills the motor.

I know that the soleniod and temp sensor is inside the tranny, I think on the valve body. A good place to check would be a Hanes manual.

That's what I was hoping it WASN'T. Internal... I hate dealerships...

Ain't that the truth for sure. I had to simply change out a headlight on the driver side and man, I had a difficult time due to the cold. It was 13 degrees out and the wind was whipping like mad. So Cal spoiled me. I come out here (near NY) and, walking around is fine but, man, working on the truck when it's that cold- forget it.
