my dad started his car a few years ago and had it warming up. after going back in the house for a few minutes, he walked back out there and heard a loud pop that sounded like a gunshot. then he noticed a crack that ran all the way across the windshield. glass does funny things with extreme temp changes if there is a chip or a star in it.
