As far as your friend who has a tow truck does he have the stats for the percentage of ford, chevy, and dodge trucks on the road.
Ill stick up for dodge on reliability but were I live there is a hell of a lot less dodges on the road than similar year chevys and fords.
Just to give you an idea out of ten friends 80% are chevy, and dodge and ford are 10% each

my area is filled with all, go to the junkyards and thres 3-4 rams, and like 20 chevys, 1000 fords....

Dodge is one reliable truck...the plenum issue is a breeze to fix. and the trannys...hell every vehicle has its flaws, but Dodge takes all. IMO

The reason you can't find Dodge trucks in junk yards is because by comparison to GM and Ford, very few were made.

Lol! You are on a dodge forum bashing dodge! What a tool! I'll take my dodge over any other truck. It has it's problems just like all the rest, but when it comes to looks and reliability it's tough to beat. By the way, you know what they say about opinions!

yea, that cameraman had to have a real set of brass *****

as much as a fan i am of the CTD, the v10 is actually a better choice in this application, being it makes more top end power (in stock form, which = reliability) has a broader RPM range (good for the ultra low geared Rockwells) and weighs less (helps keep the vehicle stable in an extremely off-camber situation)

but it WOULD be sweet if it had a cummins (in that case it would make an abosultly bitchin expedition vehicle!!)

He isn't bashing, he is just stating the truth. The OP claims the motor, trans, transfercase, etc are all stock which I have a problem with the OP calling stock.

Front Transfer Case: Two speed full time 4WD or 6WD with differential lockup 2.71:1 low range
Dash-mounted 5 position electric shift

Rear Transfer Case Single speed with 50/50 torque split planetary differential mated to the front of 2nd axle. Electromagnetic clutch provides the option of differential lockup between 2nd and 3rd axle
Doesn't sound stock to me...

Wiring..... really? come on hahahahaha. And as far as the tranny goes, the OP said that he got mud in the trans and swapped the fluid. Then lasted him another 38k miles which means the trans has been replaced. No one in their right mind can tell me that he put a completely stock mopar trans back in with what has been done with that truck. There is no doubt that is an awesome machine... but 011500Ram is right

Oh and the motor

high-output 8-liter Magnum V-10 engine:
almost 500 hp / 600 foot pounds
high-compression pistons
billet crank
ported and polished heads
modified camshaft
tubular headers

That doesn't sound stock either

Sweet truck, but Chrysler still blows.
