Default Blinker electrical problem. Need a little help

I have a 2000 ram 2500 4x4, auto, cummins. Starting about 2 months ago, it began blowing the blinker flasher module. i replaced it with multiple brands with the same result, blown as soon as i used the directional. It is not blowing the fuse, or any of the bulbs, which leads me to believe its a wiring problem somewhere in the harness on the steering column or under the dash. Has anyone out there had a similar problem, or have any ideas about what it may be? BTW, it does have a tilt steering wheel.

your number is a little off, usaully it will be good for 75,000 blinks and usually lasts more than 3k miles
But yea chase the wires and look for areas were the covering is worn away or nicked
