Default Stock off road wheels

Since I have seen several people asking about what the backspacing and width of these wheels are, I figured I would actually measure them while I had them sitting in the garage. They are 8" wide, and have a 5 9/16" backspacing.

Pics to prove it

When you calculate for backspacing don't you have to measure the whole width of the rim including the beads? It's probably more like 8 3/4.

No, backspacing is the distance from the wheel mounting flange to the inside edge of the wheel.

If you are talking width, then no. Its the inside of the beads where the tire mounts.

My off-road rims came off an 01, and the measured backspacing is 5 1/4. I didn't measure from the top of the bead though, only to the top of the larger flat area inside the bead. This is how I read was the way to measure it.

You know, I just googled it and all the pictures show it from the very inner edge of the rim. I guess I'm not sure exactly if its the flat portion you went from, or the very outer lip area that I went from.

I would have guessed it was from where the inner tire bead actually is, which would be 5" on the money, but that is not the case.
