Thats a good idea, IMO. That is what I would do.

unless you just want to remove and keep the parts, leave it as is for now.
put it on craigslist in all your surrounding areas.
put a big for sale sign on it and park it near your local high schools. especially around basketball games.
your ideal buyer is a high school kid about 18 or so that really wants a lifted truck with big wheels, big sound, etc.
price it somewhere a little more than what you want out of it, and be willing to come down a little 250-500. be cautious about going over 1000 barriers, or you can get outside peoples search patterns.

just for discussion, say you'd take 4500. then price it at 4900 rather than 5000 or 5100.

dhvaughan...you have a good point. I'm sure it would catch the eye of some high schooler that wants a truck. I'm in no rush to sell it. I dont have my truck at college right now so i might just put it in my yard next time i come home. I'll have to see what kind of offers i get for it.

Kelly Blue Book is worthless no matter what -- car dealers laugh at it. The only *true* measure of the value is http://www.nada.com

NADA is the more realistic value.

NADA says average trade in for my truck is $4250. Seems kinda high to me...maybe its because of the low miles. If i could around 4500ish stock i'd be happy. I doubt that will happen.

KBB inflates its prices for dealerships. NADA and Edmunds are more realistic.
