dipstick tube broke off block help

great part of these motors... heat dont bother them too bad... as long as you dont go crazy with it.. ya know, sittin there torching for like 5mins.. then yea, somethings is bound to get weak... but just keep and extinguisher on hand ( me being a firefighter) i would hate to see someones house, and truck go out in smoke becuase of a broken dipstick...

go easy when you heat it up and start hammering... heated metal is more pliable( its what your after) and you dont want to hammer on the wrong thing... but you seem like your pretty knowledgable having tried a few differant things before you came to the forum.. so best of luck to ya

thanks everyone for all the help i got it out and put engine back in the truck and installed new tube and made sure this one is bolted downvtight tovaccessory bracket
it runs great now no leaks. replaced waterpump o ring and gasket it needed it
oil pan gasket was reusable. i now have an idler pully bearing bad and squeeling duebto me finding itvin a bucket filled with antivfreeze for week sitting in there after it dropped in. no wonder i couldmt find it till last minute.
