Not exactly. In a stock truck when it shifts, the torque management allows the clutches to slip and cause a nice, smooth shift that an average driver likes. One downfall is, the clutches are slipping! That causes shorter clutch life. Taking the torque management out allows for firmer, harder shifts like you said. It doesnt allow the clutches to slip, increasing the clutch's life.

Yeah, but it puts more stress on the tranny, because the shifts are much much harder.

would you rather have a slipping clutch in your truck or have firmer shifts? yeah it can give you a jolt inside the truck....but if you want to the best of both worlds, were you can to adjust the firmness of a shift, a shift kit is a no brainer. with my shift kit, im able to adjust shift firmness by the turn of a screw with the pan off. i bought my sct tuner used online for $200 i just got to have some tunes made up for it, but im going to wait for my camshaft and heads, and then run it on a dyno to get accurate tunes for it. oh btw sct stands for superchips custom tuning

Just got my truck back today from the body shop, and installed my Hemifever tuned SCT.

Its snappier than the Superchips tuner that I sold, and we'll see what the MPGs do (not that I'm really concerned). Haven't tried it out to much yet, as its still pretty icy and snowy here.

Did you replace your superchip with the SCT? and on a stock truck?

Yes he did. And, his truck is "lightly" modded!
