What difference does it make? 8 lugs are actually better then 5. Why wouldn't you want that?

8 lugs are much better, plus a dana 60 is a full float axle compared to the semi float 9.25, full float axles btw are used on basically everything bigger than a half ton truck

I forgot its a full floater.Had a jeep d60 semi float on my mind from a magazine article.I dont want 8 lug wheels on a 1/2 ton truck because.....its STILL a 1/2 ton truck.I also dont want a wing on the back of my grandmas civic, cause its still a civic.I also dont want a 13 inch lift kit... go figure.I did the axle swap on a 76 chevy stepside many years ago.3/4 ton axles on 1/2 ton frame, with 8 lug wheels.I wasnt happy with it.In the future ,if I have 8 lug wheels,I will have a 3/4 ton truck on top of them.I happen to think the 9.25 is a decent rear axle, but I want a selectable rear locker, and the aftermarket has seemingly ignored this axle.BTW,gm made a semifloat 14 bolt 3/4 ton.Guess if I really want a d60 5 lug semi float
I will have to call up curries

i want to do this but but its hard to find 3/4ton axles and leafs for cheap. You know really if you put 3/4 ton leafs coils and axles and 8 lugs you got your self a 3/4 ton truck with cheaper tags
