First I'd replace the plenum gasket/plenum plate, the reason for the "death flash." Then I'd get a 3865 or SCT.

I already have the hughes plenum kit on the way with new bolts etc..and I already bought the 3815 superchips...what I was wanting to know was what program on the superchips would work best for towing. I know there is a towing option, but didn't know if it is what would work best or if one of the other options would work better?

When all is said and done, do these things (Superchips) actually provide the gains they claim to?

i installed mine a few minutes ago and took it for a 5-10 mile trip in the rain with it set to the 91 tune and 87 in the tank (no pinging either, thank you hughes). i also adjusted the tires to 32.75, but i can't remember if that does anything on our trucks.
it does feel stronger through the gears and is about the same if not barely better in overdrive.
now the last time i got on it was when i was running the stock air box for a while, and now that the 14x3 is back on, it might be affecting the feel of more power at WOT.

so, superchips users, did it take a few miles before you started to really feel the effects of the tuner or was it an immediate difference?

Does it really matter if you have it programmed to 91 octante tune and only run regular 87 octane fuel? Mine set to the performance tune but i'm sick of paying for that high price gas,.

Also, how much difference does the economy tune make? Let's get some user testimonials here. It's hard to trust the claims made by 99.999% of the "quick performance" manufacturers out there.
